New House - Kitchen Haul

Tea, Coffee, Sugar Pots £5 each / Wilkinsons
Country Heart Worktop Saver £3.99 / Country Heart Oven Glove £4.49 / Country Heart Tea Towels - 3 Pack £4.99
Vintage Lace Mugs 4 Pack £4.99
(All Dunelm)

So, the other day, my husband, Craig and I reserved our house with Taylor Wimpey. We're beyond excited and cannot wait to keep going to see it being built in stages! But, in the meantime, I have been buying little bits for it therefore, I thought I would do a blog post series, one room at a time to show what I've bought instead of one majorly long post trying to cram everything in!

Today I thought I would start with the kitchen as this is the room I've bought the most for.
The colour scheme is going to be cream and different shades of brown. I'd only decided this after seeing the tea, coffee & sugar pots in Wilkinsons one day and I HAD to have them! I thought it was cute how the curly writing is in hearts but also, the lids say 'fill your home with love'. I've just never seen any as nice as these before so these were the beginning of the cream/brown colour scheme.
After buying the pots, I found the worktop savers in Dunelm that I thought would look great with the pots, part of their 'Country Heart' range with matching tea towels and oven glove.
Also, not like I need any more mugs, but I bought some anyway! A pack of 4 mugs, 2 brown and 2 pink with a beautiful lace detailing around the top. These were also from Dunelm, my favourite shop ever! I love most of the stuff they do!

Julian Macdonald Silver Table Runner £32 / Debenhams
Fornuft Cutlery Set £7.75 / Latte Glasses 85p each
Both IKEA

Next up in my kitchen haul is my gorgeous silver beaded table runner from the 'Star' by Julian Macdonald range at Debenhams. It's more of a charcoal shade than silver which is why I bought it, as the wallpaper I want for the kitchen is brown with cream flowers and the tiniest bit of black.

Our house at the minute has a lot of black furniture which I'm definitely going to avoid in the new house as I want it to be bright and have a refreshing feel so this is probably the darkest thing I'm going to have in the house, on the dining table.

A few days after we had reserved our plot, we took a trip to IKEA to get some ideas and of course when you go to IKEA, it's impossible to leave empty handed! I picked up a decent 24 piece cutlery set at a bargain price of £7.75 and 2 latte glasses at an amazing price tag of only 85p each which shocked me as I've been meaning to buy some of these glasses for ages but everywhere I've seen them, they're always around the £3 each price mark so I'm definitely happy with my IKEA buys!

Morphy Richards 5 piece Accents Knife Block - Cream £25 / Very.com
Heart Kitchen Roll Holder £4 / Matalan
Gun Metal Beaded Placemats £9.99 / Dunelm

A more essential kitchen item I purchased is the Morphy Richards knife block in cream but they have a selection of colours to choose from; black, barley, white, purple and a few others.
The price of this varies on different websites but you can get it anywhere between £24 - £30 so definitely shop around on the internet as I got mine for £25 and it's more than worth it as the quality of the knives are amazing and super sharp!
Following on with the cream colour coordination, I bought the heart kitchen roll holder from Matalan which is perfect for any shabby chic themed kitchen and only £4.

To match the beaded table runner I bought from Debenhams, I picked up 4 of these 'gun metal beaded placemats' from Dunelm. These are £9.99 for a pair and sparkle so much when the light hits them!

That pretty much concludes my first house haul. Hope you enjoyed reading about my current kitchen buys! For now, these are all going packed nicely in a box until moving day but don't worry, you will be seeing more home hauls! ;)
Until next time, girls! xxx
